Since 1970, Sissy’s Log Cabin has been an iconic, family owned and operated jewelry store. We pride ourselves on quality and customer service. Our staff of experienced professionals have received numerous awards on both state and national levels. Sissy’s Log Cabin has evolved into Arkansas’ largest independently owned jewelry store with 12,000 square feet of showroom filled with diamonds, jewelry, estate jewelry, fine gifts, and fabulous antiques. Sissy’s Log Cabin currently has four stores located in Pine Bluff, Little Rock, Jonesboro, and Memphis.

The story of Sissy’s Log Cabin began on an afternoon in 1970 when Sissy Jones noticed a log cabin that was for sale as she was driving down U.S. Highway 79 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Sissy, who is an avid collector of antiques, pulled into the doughnut shop across the street and called the number. She then began renting the cabin for $50 a month and stocked it with antiques from her attic and home. The cabin itself was in pretty bad shape, but this did not bother her or her eternal optimism. Soon the word began to spread about the wonderful goods that could be found at Sissy’s Log Cabin, where Sissy made her living by appraising and selling her antiques.

Sissy Jones never does anything half way. When she decided to change her focus from antiques to jewelry she studied the subject at the very best schools. She has attended the Gemological Institute of America in California, McCarthey Jewelry Design School in Mena, Trenton Jewelry/ Goldsmith School in Memphis, and the University of Arkansas at Monticello. Sissy is also a licensed appraiser of antique jewelry.

Sissy’s Log Cabin has always been a family-owned and -operated business. Sissy calls all of her 30 plus employees her “working family;” not to mention that her husband, Murphy Jones, son Bill Jones, and daughter Ginger Jones Cheatham have all worked for the company. Murphy Jones joined the Sissy’s staff in 1988 and serves as the company’s secretary/treasurer. He has been instrumental in the expansion of Sissy’s Log Cabin and helped to shape it into what it is today. Murphy is also the designer of the new log cabin. Bill Jones joined the staff in 1984. He had planned to become a chemical engineer and attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and Little Rock. After helping out in the store during his college days, Bill has since become the President of the company and has been named one of the top 40 Arkansas Business People under 40 by Arkansas Business. Daughter Ginger Jones Cheatham joined the Sissy’s Log Cabin team in 1984 after working three years as a registered nurse. She served as the Executive Vice President and the CEO of Sissy’s Images until 2006.

In 1991, Sissy’s business had finally outgrown her original little log cabin. So the day before Thanksgiving of that year, the entire store’s contents were moved from the old log cabin into three newer buildings. Eventually the old log cabin was torn down to make room for the 12,000 square foot log cabin you see in Pine Bluff today.

Sissy Jones credits her success to hard work, family, good friends, wonderful customers, and, of course, “the help of a few angels.”

Years later, Sissy expanded the store even further, creating a massive 4,000 foot jewelry showcase that became the most popular jewelry store in Arkansas. In 2010, Sissy’s Log Cabin decided to expand and open up a store in Little Rock, then 2 years later also opened up a Jonesboro location.

In October 2014, Sissy’s Log Cabin opened their newest location in Memphis, TN.

After all of these years, Sissy’s Log Cabin hopes to gain customers’ trust even more. Looking to the future, the hope is to pass down the Sissy’s tradition and continue serving the fine people of Arkansas with all of their jewelry and fine gift needs.
