An estimated 1,000 Memphians braved cold and rain to hear President George H.W. Bush praise Memphis’ spirit of volunteerism on the newspaper’s front lawn.

If you’ve got a hammer, get a nail. If you can read, find someone who can’t. If you’re well … help someone who isn’t. If you're not in trouble, seek out someone who is.
