Huge Turnout For FDR

Shelby Countians were very much a part of Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s sweep into the White House. The CA reporting voting was so heavy — a turnout of 50,000 — that ballots were still being counted at 3:30 a.m. FDR recorded a six-fold margin locally over challenger Herbert Hoover.
