A Fair Performance

And then he said it will be a good show.
Ed Sullivan, veteran television emcee and famed stoneface of show business, arrived in Memphis late yesterday afternoon for the taping today of one of his network TV shows at the opening of the Mid-South Fair.
He did not say "shew." He said "show."

If you’re wondering, Sullivan’s guests included Arthur Godfrey, Sonny James, Loretta Lynn and Archie Campbell of "Hee Haw" fame.
